June 27, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Today I was on myspace, (biggest waste of time ever). Anyways I say a banner ad for a  24 page. I am a huge fan of the show, my roommate and I have watch seasons 1-4 on NetFlix with intensity. So I went on the 24 page and found out that you can download episodes. They have the first episode of season on there for free (the rest you can buy) I was so stoked! I am not sure if I want to watch the first episode or not. Season 5 does not come out for a while, I might have a heart attack. Oh well I will probadly end up watching it.

A Hot Topic

June 23, 2006 · 5 Comments

Global warming has been a hot topic in the press lately. I remember first learning about Global warming in the 3rd grade. We were always taught that we should be aware of global warming but we probably would not see any effects until we were adults. Well the time has come. I might not be an adult yet, but at least I am old enough to be one.  Everyone always talk about how we should do something about global warming, but what? As American we have become so dependant on cars to get us everywhere. I am as guilty as anyone on this issue.

Well I say it is time to take a stay and admit that Global Warming is a problem and do something about it. You thinking there is not much on person can do about global warming. Well you might be right that I can’t do anything to change the way the earth is warming. But I feel as Christians we all need to take a stand and admit that global warming is a problem and throw our hats in the ring and help the cause to stop global warming.

In February of this year the Rev. Jim Ball spearheaded a campaign with other Evangelical leaders like Rick Warren to take a stand against global warming. Like myself these guys are not going to single-handedly stop global warming, but they are going taking a stand to make Christians and non-Christians aware of what is happing to our earth.

But there are still a handful of Evangelical leaders out there that will not take a stand on the issue of global warming. Now I am not going to plaster there names all over my blog (here is a link). It is beyond me why these guys won’t take a stand. No wonder non-Christians think we are crazy.

Miller’s Thoughts

June 22, 2006 · 1 Comment

Check out this link from Don Miller’s Fan site. It is a response to a question about how to live a proper Christian life and still respect your body

as a temple. Miller gives his thought of drinking. I think he is right on. Some people have no problem with drinking, they can handle it. And then there are those who can’t handle it. I don’t drink anymore because I can’t handle alcohol anymore. It took me a long time to realize that is was

going to take me tostop drinking not God. But the only way that I don’t drink today is the fact God give me that strength not to drink.

World Refugee Day

June 20, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Tuesday is World Refugee Day. There has been a lot in the media lately about this day in a large part due to Angelina Jolie. I think is amazing that Jolie is using her celebrity to such a great cause. Not only is she raising awareness around the world she is also a big contributor to the cause. Check out her interview on CNN with Anderson Cooper the next two nights. And Check out the World Refugee Day website to see what you can do for this cause.

Happy Fathers Day!

June 18, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Today is the day! Happy Fathers Day to my Dad and all of the Dads out there. I know that are a lot of guys and girls out there that grew up with out fathers. To you i can only say seek see comfort in Him!

2 Corinthians 1:3-7

The God of All Comfort

3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 5For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. 6If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.

Some good eats!

June 13, 2006 · Leave a Comment

This week I am in
Mobile, AL training for a new job I will  be starting soon. We I am traveling I try eat some of the local cusine. Last night I ate at one of the best seafood restaurants I have ever been to. Wintzell’s Oysters House is the spot in
Mobile! Their seafood gumbo is the best gumbo I have ever had. Spending a lot of time in
Louisiana I have had a lot of gumbo in my day. In addition I have fried okra, hush puppies and Oysters baked with cheese and shrimp. I will admit oysters are gross tasting raw, but when they are bake they are hard to beat. So I am hoping to still find some crawfish on my food quest, but tonight I think it might be BBQ!

A bar room conversation

June 11, 2006 · Leave a Comment

So this week I am traveling to
Mobile, AL for some training for a new job I am starting.

Last night I stayed in
Albuquerque, NM. I went to a local restaurant to have dinner.

When I am traveling by myself I like to eat at the bar. It makes feel less like a loser, than sitting at a table by myself. So I am sat down I noticed that there we other guys, probably traveling themselves. The next thing I know this guy sit down next to me. I could tell that this guy was had been around the world a couple times or two. We engaged in a conversation about our jobs. I asked him were he was from he said
Colorado, and the conversation become lively from that point on. It turns out that he knows a guy that I went to college with. Small world. About 10 minutes later I started talking to a guy sitting on the other side of me about the World Cup. Turns out he lived in
Dubai for a change. I guess the whole point of this post is that it is amazing who you will meet on the road. I have to admit that traveling, especially for work may be fun at first then it wears on you. I am just excited about this trip. I can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for me!
