Quieter than a Flame
May 29, 2006 · 1 Comment
So I have to admit that I like worship time at church. I use to like all the songs that were played. But as I have gone through my spiritual journey some “worship songs” have become irrelevant and sometimes just down right cheesy to me. So I am a big fan of people that write worship songs not intending them to be worship song. My friend Ian does worship at our church two times a month. He wrote a song called Quieter than a Flame. Every time I hear this song I am just riveted! The lyrics rock my world. Here they are:
Quieter than a Flame![]()
I come now before you
To bow down and adore you
You alone are God
You alone are good
So we come now to worship you
Bow down and worship you
You are everything
King of every King
But you move through us
Like a hurricane
And you walk among us
Like a lion, untamed
And work on us
Like a wind without a name
But you speak to us in a voice
That is quieter than a flame
I come now to behold you
Jesus I have told you
I’m sorry for no seeing
Fire Season

One on cost of living in paradise is putting up with Nature. In Southern Colorado, when we have a dry winter, it usually means that we are going to have wild fires in the summer. And this summer is no exception. We already have had a couple of fires. Here is a picture that one of my friends who is a wild land firefighter took this week at a fires a couple miles south of Durango.

25 years of Aids
May 26, 2006 · Leave a Comment
I was bored at work today, while I was waiting for rich people to come golf and I
was reading Newsweek. The issue was about the 25th
university of
Aids in the world. It was a very interesting issue, if you can find the issue you should pick it up. There was a article about Aids in developing countries written, by former President Bill Clinton. So I have to admit that I was not the biggest
Clinton fan when he is in the White House. But after reading this article I am impressed with the man. He as formed the
Clinton Foundation, and one of there initiatives is help in the Aids fight in developing countries. And my trip to
Africa last summer, I can tell you that help is needed in
Africa.

So I hit a milestone yesterday. Actually my Jeep did. I hit 100,000 miles in my Jeep. I have had my Jeep for almost 4 years, in that time I have put nearly 70,000 miles on the open road. My Jeep and I have been through a lot high is a list on memories over the last couple of years.
Moving six times in 4 years
4 ski seasons.
3 golf seasons.
Driving through 6 states.
New breaks, new tires.
2 girlfriends, (2 break ups)
Countless times over Wolf Creek pass
6 car washes (If you live in Colorado you under stand)
1 wreck with a deer.
And many more.
I love my Jeep. I have thought about getting a new car several times over the last couple of years. I still cant decided if I just want to keep it for ever

Check out this interesting post from Donald Miller’s fan site. It is an interesting incite of how people perceive him, as well as other Christian writers who think outside the box.

Da Vinci did well….
May 23, 2006 · Leave a Comment
Well despite my best efforts to coax people not to go see The Da Vinci Code this weekend due to bad reviews, I don’t think that it helped too much. The super hyped flick rated in a lot of cash over the weekend. $77.1 million actually. Here is the box office results from this past weekend. I still think I will wait until it is on DVD to see what all the hype is about. That’s why Net Flix is so cool. Even if a movie sucks you don’t feel bad about wasting your time or money on it.
